Every meeting, written up. Nobody else in the room.

Private meeting notes for Windows

Meeting notes, without a bot in the meeting.

Upshot notices when your meeting starts, records it on your own computer and gives you a summary written the way you like it. Nobody joins your call, and the recording never leaves your PC.

Your meetings stay private

Recorded and kept on your own computer. Nothing is uploaded to be transcribed, and with a local AI model nothing leaves at all.

Never forget to record New

Upshot notices when a meeting starts. Let it record on its own, and every call ends with notes, whether you remembered or not.

Notes you can send as they are

Tell it once how you like your notes: sections, tone, even colours. Every summary is ready to paste into an email.

The problem with notetaker bots

A bot in the call is a stranger in the room.

Everyone sees it

  • A stranger on the call
  • “Who is that?” before you’ve started
  • People speak less freely
  • Some hosts remove it

The conversation leaves the room

  • Audio uploaded to a vendor’s cloud
  • Kept under their retention
  • Summaries shared by link
  • An account full of your calls

Upshot never joins the call. It listens from your own PC, and keeps what it hears there.

How it works

Join the call. Upshot takes it from there.

  1. It notices the meeting

Join as usual, in any app. Upshot spots that a meeting has started, on its own

  2. It records

Quietly, on your computer. Nobody in the call sees a thing

  3. You get the notes

After the call, a summary in your format is in your timeline

As automatic as you like

Let it record every meeting it notices, or just have it show you the meetings it spotted. You can always press Record yourself.

Clear on what you promised

Your words are kept apart from everyone else’s, so it’s always clear what you said you’d do.

Works on an ordinary PC

No special hardware. A graphics card makes it faster; without one, your notes just take longer to arrive.

Your format

Write the format once. Send it every time.

What you tell it, once

Write the summary as an email to the
client. Open with a two-line recap,
then Decisions, Action items with
owner and date, and Next meeting.

Upshot works with any call app on your computer, without joining the call or adding anything to it. Summaries are written by the AI model you choose: Claude has written them for real meetings, and the others are ready but not yet used on a live one.

The app

Read the meeting, not the recording.

Questions

FAQ

Does my meeting leave my PC?
The recording never does: it’s kept and transcribed on your computer. To write the summary, the text of the conversation goes to the AI model you pick. Pick a local model (Ollama) and nothing leaves at all.
Will the other people see anything?
No. Upshot records from your own computer; nothing joins the call. Recording laws differ by country, so tell people you’re recording.
How does it know a meeting started?
It notices when a call app starts using your microphone and looks for signs of a real conversation. At first it only shows you the meetings it spotted, so you can see it gets them right. Once you trust it, switch on auto-record. Auto-record is new, and you can always press Record yourself.
Does Upshot use my Google Calendar?
Soon Only if you connect it. Upshot will read your calendar events, read-only and on your computer, to know when your meetings are scheduled and to name them. Calendar data is never sent to us or to AI providers. The Privacy Policy has the details.
Can the summary go straight into an email?
Yes. Tell Upshot to write it as an email, with your sections, tone and colours. Press Copy, paste into your email, and the formatting comes with it.
Do I need a powerful PC?
No. An NVIDIA graphics card makes it faster. Without one, Upshot waits until the call ends so your meeting isn’t slowed down, and the notes take longer to arrive.
Which languages, and which platforms?
Hebrew and English meetings, with the app itself in both languages. Upshot runs on Windows only.

It can’t yet tell the other people in the call apart: their words are labelled together.
